The Crash


This was already posted on the Random Internet blog a few weeks ago, but it's such an amazing photo that I had to reblog it here. 

This amazing photograph was taken by National Geographic photographer Robert W. Madden while he was in Guatemala in 1976. Apparently, the plane was having trouble landing in the high winds when Mr. Madden took this frame just as the aircraft crashed into the truck. You can find the source over at the National Geographic website.

Without a doubt, this is the same kind of photo that embodies the principle of being at the place and at the right time.

UPDATE: Just to clarify some of the questions in the comments: yes, everyone escaped harm from the accident and no, this is not an April's Fools Joke.
